Program CSR PSM UMPSA di Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary
On November 15, 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) at UMPSA conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program at the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary in Lanchang, Pahang. Participants engaged in conservation efforts including cleaning elephant enclosures, attending educational briefings by PERHILITAN officers, and interacting directly with the sanctuary's 17 Asian elephants through activities like river bathing. The program highlighted the sanctuary’s vital role in relocating elephants from human-wildlife conflict areas and managing a diverse population, ranging from a one-year-old rescue to a 70-year-old resident. Beyond the physical labor, the initiative served to raise awareness about the urgency of protecting Peninsular Malaysia's remaining 1,500 wild elephants. By fostering values of environmental stewardship and compassion, PSM UMPSA successfully reinforced the importance of preserving natural habitats for future generations.
